Here’s a Danish inspired gløgg recipe (Scandinavian spiced or mulled wine) that we suggest to make with a bottle of Nisse + Hygge.
INGREDIENTS:
· 1 bottle Nisse + Hygge red table wine | · 1.5 inch of ginger |
· 5 stripes of lemon peel | · 1 cup port wine |
· 8 cardamom pods | · 0.5 cups almonds (blanched) |
· 5 cloves | · 1 cup raisins (soak in rum overnight) |
· 2 cinnamon sticks | · 1 cup water |
INSTRUCTIONS:
Put water and spices in a pot and boil for a minute. Let it stand for at least 10 minutes. After removing the spices combine the solution with wine, raisins and almonds and warm up without boiling. Add sugar to taste. When the glögg is almost boiling, take it off the heat and add port wine. Serve right away.
